One of the many difficulties about English is that badly spoken English is easier to understand than badly written English, which is almost impossible to understand, yet many businesses believe it is acceptable to use it. This is a mistake because most business communications are written (email, texts, letters, marketing, blogs, websites etc) and if customers, even worse the public, are unable to understand what is being written, then business could become difficult, even impossible.
Online translation sites are famous for being riddled with mistakes. The question therefore is why would any professional business risk using a translation which it has no idea is correct, but in reality knows is probably wrong? Business normally only gets one chance to impress, why would it risk being unprofessional by using an App it knows is flawed?
Learning English is expensive and very time consuming, which can hold a business back. Such delays cost money, which is why we do not teach English. We instead take a business’s written English and ensure it is clear and concise on the day that it is needed.
